Syllabus

This advanced level course is aimed Day Skippers wishing to enhance their skills or progress towards their RYA Coastal Skipper. It also meets the needs of those who have recently converted from sail to power, by sharpening their skills with day and night time navigation and high speed pilotage.

This course includes time spent in the classroom and a wide range of practical activities on the water.
Pre-Course
Experience
10 days at sea, 150 miles, 4 night hours and 2 days as skipper.
Assumed
Knowledge
Your navigational skills should be to the standard of the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmasterâ„¢ theory. You should also hold a VHF/SRC licence and have a first aid certificate.
Student
Instructor Ratio
4:1. Urban Truant is also pleased to offer lower ratios on request for those who would like more time with their instructor.

  • Passage making and responsibility as a skipper (daylight hours)
