MCA/RYA Yachtmaster™ Power Conversion

RYA Motorboat > MCA/RYA Yachtmaster™ Power Conversion

Overview

Course
Syllabus

Holders of the Yachtmaster™ Coastal or Yachtmaster™ Offshore Sail Certificate of Competence are able to take the full exam to obtain the equivalent power certificate of competence with a reduced seatime requirement. This course provides the opportunity to prepare for your exam by covering refresher training in a number of key areas, and culminating in an exam with an external RYA examiner.

During your conversion training we will ensure you have sufficient experience with boat handling in a twin engine motor cruiser, passage planning for high speed craft, electronic navigation (with particular focus on radar), MOB procedures and your diesel engine knowledge.

This course provides an excellent opportunity for someone to make the leap from sail to power and opens up a variety of new avenues to explore, either for fun or to seek commercial endorsement.
